Photoshop 7 Action ’‚’‚…‚’‚‚¦Thin Black Outline

Here is a simple action that will start by duplicating your original and then proceed to add a thin black outline to the duplicate photo then it will place it on top of a white background with a drop shadow and lastly it will bring up the save for web dialog box so that you may optimize your image for web use’‚’‚…‚’‚‚¦

    Loading new actions in PS7

1 - open the fly out menu on the actions palette

2 - select load action > then browse to were you saved the action and select

Question How/Where do I download these?

Thanks so much for these. I have spent literally hours researching this framing concept. I did one of your framing procedures a few weeks ago, it looks great, however the actions will be so much easier.
I have never downloaded an action and do not know if it downloads automatically into the correct file or if I need to specify that.
I am sorry for my ignorance, I'm new to PS7, but learning so much from these forums.

Thanks Paul. Just loaded both actions and printed a pic with one of them on. It's surprising what a big difference it makes to the picture. It seem to have more depth. Thanks for sharing,
    Gill

    Hi Paul,

That is a very nice action. I will try the same thing with PSP 8.10 and see if I can come up with a script(action).

Question Does this work and different than Increasing the Canvas

I have been playing around a bit, and just noticing I can increase the canvas size (under-Resize) by what ever # and color I like and then apply a drop shadow effect in elements.
Does this procedure acomplish this any differently. Meaning is the outcome more desirable than the way I just described? I know there are often many ways to accomplish the same outcome in PS, however not all would be the better choice for various reasons.
Hope this is not too confusing.
    Thanks

the only real advantage to the action is automation of the steps
