Problem with Filenameing when duplicating the image
I'm trying to create an action that will resize the canvas. The first step in my action is to duplicate the image so as to not overwrite the original. But I am wondering if there is a way to change the new document title to
instead of just copy ?
To explain this in a different way let's say I have Image "A" open. When I run my script it should create different images that are different sizes. What I want is document names like "A_20x30" "A_16x20" etc. Is there any easy way of doing this? or am i just dreaming?http://www.RussellHeimlich.com

I do similar things with my aerial photos, I save them as TIFFs, JPEGs, small JPEGs and BitMaps. The easiest way I have found to do it is to just duplicate the whole folder of pictures you are working with. Then rename the new folder and open the pictures in the new folder, do whatever you want with them as the originals will be over written unless you are changing the type of file like saving as TIFFs, JPEGs and BitMaps in the same folder and then you will have all the picts in the form you want. You seem to want to just change the size of the picture into many different ones. I do that by just duplicating the folder, opening the picts in the new folder and then resizing them and overwriting the originals. I do this several times, each with different copies of the same folder so I have the same formatted pictures in diffent sizes for whatever I am using them for. Check out my website at:

My work around
Well my workaround is rather simple, I'm surprised i didn't think of it earlier. When duplicating the document I have the document name change to the size of the image, for example, If I run the 40x30 action the document would be titled 40x30. Then I do a batch save and add the original document name with an underscore so the final output would look like Imagename_40x30, for example.
