Can Elements 2 handle the job I need it to???

Here is what im wanting to do. I want to open my own photo restoring and refinishing business. I only work 4 month of the years as a tax associate. I have all 8 of the other months to try and suppliment my very small income. I have already dabbled into this some but I need some more learning. I already own a wonderful little building right next to my home to do this in. No overhead. Will the photoshop elements 2 be all the program I will need to do this? I hate to buy it and discover it's not what I need. Thanks for any input you can give me

You can make elements work, but it all depends on how detailed and how advanced you want to get.

If your just wanting to play as little with a photo and use the built in featues, elements will give you alot of control. But if your looking to do this for a liveing, I would recommend a little more.

Also if you going to do much refinishing work, I may recommend you invest in a pen/tablet. A decent one is going to run $100-200, but it will make a BIG differance in fine detail.

Not sure what kind of PC your running at the moment, but dual monitors will be very helpful as well. Many people have the image on one monitor and there editing tools on another. It sounds EXTREAM, but it makes editing much easier. But make sure you calabarte the two monitiors before using them.

As said in the post above PSE 2 will do. But I use PSE 2 and Paint Sho Pro 8.10 for most of the restoration that I do. I do it as a sideline, Not fulltime. The tablet really does help. Good Luck in your venture. I hope that it works out for you.

If you want to seriously do a photo restoration business, then I certainly recommend Adobe Photoshop CS.

I have been working on my first restoration using elements 2. I have posted the original and a progress photo in my album if you would like to see it. I believe elements is going to do me just fine.
