I am a finalist - I wish you could vote!
the region I live in is known as "the Lehigh Valley". currently Olympus (who is HG here) and the local camera stores have a "life in the Lehigh Valley" contest going on. One could enter 2 photos. There were 280 entries and they have downselected to 25. Of those, one prize will be by popular vote and 5 prizes will be by the judges in mid-September. Bottom line - I got two of my images into the final 25! Both of these were prior winners at Byte ... your feedback helped me select these landscape shots for entry.
I am always leary of popular vote winners as it seems easy to stuff the ballot box, but I have hope on the judged prizes. I will keep you guys in the loop.Buddy

how exciting for you Buddy. Sounds like the competition is similar to one I entered in Bucks County in Fall 2006 called "Picture Bucks County" Olympus was a sponsor then as well.

I WON, they actually like me!
Wow, I got a call today asking if I could make the photo competition awards event. they said they were calling the 10 finalist.
Naturally, I said, "well does that mean I win something". Answer - it would be worth your coming to it.
I won the popular vote and also the judges vote - $800 worth of Olympus gear. I will also get a photo spread in the local magazine in the January issue. I am all smiles tonight.Buddy
