EXIF Information
Hi Guys, forgive me in advance for this.
I'm new to all this and was wondering why, the images I have submitted so far do not have the EXIF Information.
Is this something I need to add or is it info that only some cameras provide with the image.
I so hope this is not the dumbest question ever submitted.

Hi Flossie. It depends on the software program you use to downsize your picture for the web. Some of them strip the exif info.
Let us know the software you use and I'm sure someone here will have the same one and be able to help out

I use the XAT.com jpeg optomiser 2 software.
Not sure if this software is any good it is the only thing I could find to reduce the file size without ruining the image totally.
Is there a recommended software for reducing the files while retaining the EXIF info.Just learning - What I use

I'm guessing you are new at this by your response
any photo software package can resize a photo.
Go to your menus and find where it would have Image - resize.
Always save your resized photo to a different file name, never overwrite any jpg file after you edited it at all or you will lose quality.
In the resize area, change the dpi from 300 to 72 dpi.
Then change the pixels to no more than 800 on the long side, let the short side adjust itself.
From there do a save as to a new file name.
I always use the same file name but place a W on the end so I know its the web version.
This way I can always sort my file on the computer and see both files side by side and immediately know they are the same picture but different versions.Pbase.com/ReflectionsbyRuth

Cheers for the info, I have not been resizing only reducing the quality so as to get down to the required file size to upload.
I will try resizing from now on.
