    Inside A DSLR

This is a link to an animated film made by engineers from UC Berkely on how a Canon DSLR is put together. It's really fascinating and wonderful. About 10 minutes long it's worth every second.

Glad you enjoyed it, Darren. And how nice of youi to say so. A lot of people looked at this thread but, as you can see, you're the only one who actually said they had looked at it.

I actually found the first 9-1/2 minutes boring. I guess if I were to tear my camera apart, it might come in helpful. The last 30 seconds were interesting, but if I had not know what I was looking at, I would still not know. It should have been narrated instead of using that elevator music.
Regardless, thanks for the link, Sheila.

    Sheila-

I found this fascinating. Perhaps, being an engineer, I have always been interested in what's inside of things. (So far I have resisted the urge to take my cameras apart.)

On the second level, I have an appreciation of the huge amount of work it took to put this video together. It was very well done, worthy of a professional.

    Thanks for sharing.

Wow - now I know why my camera was so expensive! I loved the way the music linked with the motion - kind of mesmerizing. The lens section was great - helped me understand the focal length/angle of view relationship. Thanks for posting the link. I still think my camera is a magic box, though.
