    Talking New guy!

    hey everyone.

i just found this site not long ago. these past few days i have been able to register and upload some of my pictures! my name is Tyler, im 20 years old. i lived in the Cincinnati area my whole life, untill just recently i moved to Santiago, Chile. i plan to do some backpacking through the country soon. maybe visit Argentina, and already have a trip planned to Quito, Ecuador.

my work is always in progress. i try to learn something new everyday. to this day i have one edited photo. havent found the time to get my editing skills yet! so 99.9% of the pictures you see from me are unedited. most of my pictures consist of cars.. i love them. i also enjoy shooting nature, havent done much work with people... yet.

i figured this would be a nice place to meet some friends, get some of my work critiqued, and learn something new!

    cheers!

    Tyler,

Nice to have you aboard. My suggestion is to get involved. If you want the most out of this site, you should post two shots per week in the contest section. you will get the most comments and critiques. We do like to critique here because that i s how we all learn. Not only in how we hone our shooting skills but also our critiquing skills. you would be surprised how dissecting others shots helps in how you view your own.

Be kind but not shy. Give honest pros and cons on the images as well as suggestions as to what you think would improve the shot.

Remember, jump in with both feet. looking forward to seeing you stuff.

    Cheers,

    kevin

thanks for all the advice! i'll be sure to keep it in mind. although i doubt i'll have enough time to keep competitve in the contest section. you brought up an interesting point that i never thought of before "you would be surprised how dissecting others shots helps in how you view your own." kudos to that.
