Incredible Panorama shot Of Edinburgh
Came across this. It's not my work but I am impressed by this and decided I must post it here for others to share.
This is a 2x50 shot panorama of Edinburgh with the Olympus E-3 and Zuiko 150 f/2 merged with PT-Gui.
The output is tiled with Zoomify ( built in Export from PS CS3 ) at 1000x693 pixels.
You can pan and zoom into the full resolution ( Google Earth style ) without having to download the entire 90993x4744 430MB image or any browser plug-ins.
The weather was a bit grey so this is more of a test shot in preparation for the 1 Gigapixel shot I will take if I can get up the hill early enough on a crisp sunny morning.
Zoomify full-res panorama :

sorry Fred, should've got back but got sidetracked.
i did view and played around with it for quite a while.
its incredible and i marvelled at the technique.
the overall tone and detail was excellent and i was surprised the castle was fairly insignificant nestled in there.
i saw something similar of trafalgar square.
thanks for showing us.

That zoomify doesn't want to play with my work machine. Pesky macs!
Is there a high-res file you could link to directly?
Quite interested in the shot as I was brought up there, and haven't really been back since I took up photography. It's a beautiful place. Good luck with getting the perfect weather. And taking all the shots within a few minutes so the light doesn't go!

It's weird to see such a big city full of old buildings. I think I saw one new building that was under construction - other than that they were all probably 200+ years old.

Impressed with the scope of the panorama. It gives a good feeling of what the city is like.
Did find the image loading rather clunky. Maybe it's because it comes from so far away. ( :"Practice Random Kindness and Senseless Acts of Beauty"
