POTW Results for WK of 3-23 to 3-29
I am happy to announce the winners of POTW.
Third Place - Steve (skeous) for "Homework Help"
http://www.bytephoto.com/photopost/s...hp?photo=89804
Steve was able to capture an intimate scene with plenty of back story for us to use our imaginations in creating. His tones and choice of B&W strips the image of all distractions. We are allowed to share in the moment without being intrusive. Well done Steve.
Second Place - Don (ricchilino) for "la casa"
http://www.bytephoto.com/photopost/s...hp?photo=89774
We are so use to seeing Don's beautiful models in his unmistakable style of light , tones and texture. I was quite taken with the overall mood of the scene. Again, there must be an interesting story that goes with this. I especially like the negative space created by the black. It forces the eye to focus on the subject. Composition and grittiness compliment the scene and keep everything in context. My compliments Don.
First Place - Sam (Sambo) for "A Touch of Green"
http://www.bytephoto.com/photopost/s...hp?photo=89816
What put this over the top for me was it's simplicity. It is very straight forward in it's composition and exposure. Nothing contrived. The colors are natural, not oversaturated and the whites are spot on. the extreme vertical crop lets the eye take in the expanse of the sky and lounge in the wonderful clouds. The solitary tree is not necessarily diminished, it brings us back to earth and anchors us on the lust green grass. Excellent job Sam.
It was my pleasure being the guest judge this week. I hope this new contest and forum will keep our interest going.
Sam you are now the guest judge for the new week. Everyone please move your photos into your galleries except for the winners.
Cheers,
KevinKevin

Wow! I've won the weekly contest before, but this one has a lot of meaning, since it was judged by someone I know and respect. Great job with the critiques/comments Kevin. That took some time and effort to do (and all volunteer I might add), and I see from above that we all appreciate it.
I will try to continue the high standards Kevin has established for judging in the first MCPOTW (Member's Choice Photo of the WEEK) (-: Lets hope the MCPOTW is short lived, and the POTW can continue!
