A visit to the zoo
I had a chance to visit the Cape May County Zoo in Cape May N.J. and photograph some of the animals with my new Nikon D100. Here are a few of my pictures.

Thank you very much for your comments. I was lucky on both shots. The sun just happened to be in the right spot for the rainbow, and the tiger came to the end of the fence, where I just happened to be standing. This was a good test of my new D100.

Nice shots Ed !! I also like the tiger and the rainbow photos.
I find the first photo, the flamingo, a little out of focus, though
Kind Regards.

Thanks,
I agree about the Flamingo. It was moving and drinking water. I should have had a faster shutter speed. I guess you have to take it the way it is dealt. I didn't realize until I got the picture on the computer, later. Thank you for your comments.Regards,

I like your shots, Ed. Any idea what the bird is that resembles a red Kiwi Bird?

Ed, great shots. It's a shame they don't make a chain link fence removing action.
I like the Zoos and wild animal parks for shooting opportunities.....I neve seem to see them in the wilds of the big city.

Hi, thanks for your comments. I did not notice the name of the red bird. These were taken in a building, where th birds were free to fly around.
The trip to the zoo was very enjoyable. It was a beautiful fall like day, and it was great just to walk around in the fresh air. Almost all of the animals were behind some sort of wire, and it is a wooded area with lots of shade. The conditions were a tlittle trying for photography. The D100 handled well. I pushed the ISO up to 400 to try and keep some decent shutter speed.
Hey Bud, there is a good winter project for you. Apply your wizardry with Photoshop, and make us a fence removal action (just kidding).
Thanks again.Last edited by EdMac; Sep 29th, 2003 at 04:43 AM.
