photo of week finalist suggestion

hi all i have been thinking lately that though i respect the site admin choices for the weeks finalists, but maybe it would be nice to see a short description/explanation as to why the admin chose that particular shot. we all know the world of photography is subjective but it would just be nice to know why they choose what they choose.

What a most excellent idea. They do it over at the Digital Image Cafe and it's interesting and informative and makes some of the choices not see so arbitrary or favoring of some posters.

A lot of good work gets chosen here for the most part but there are some weeks when I wonder what the criteria was for the choices.

No one knows who is doing the judging. That's a question that's been asked before and there's never really been a satisfactory answer. Stephen and or Paul I guess, but who really knows?

you sum up my thoughts pretty much exactly Sheila. i know alot of time and effort goes into managing the site as it is, and it's fantastic that it's free, but i'm sure 6 short descriptions/comments would not add that much more work.

I too like this idea. I've learned an awful lot from the comments and suggestions gven on this site. Brief comments from the admin about the final selections would really enhance the experience here and provide valuable additional input for all of us.

Hi,

Good suggestion but at the moment it is not possible due to the lack of time because we have other priorities at the moment.

i) major web site system update
ii) SEO optimization
iii) attract more members

Having said that we will think about your suggestion and presently we would like to say thanks for the idea.... and please keep them coming as they are always welcome so we can improve members' satisfaction.

P.S. Other web sites may propose this but please keep in mind that this web site is free and we, the admins, give up some of our free time to offer this service.
