i love everyones very different interpretation of manorbier castle . thank you to everyone who participated - EVERYONE is invited to have a go.

    .
i haven't seen 'Tin Man' the modern remake of wizard of oz which inspired Kevin. but i loved your fantasy rendition, full of atmosphere. you gave it a mystical haze. crop and portrait aspect is an excellent choice for what you wanted to convey. impressive, Kevin.

completely different, is Darren's with a thoroughly detailed description of edit technique. the foreground foliage has a grainy texture which to my mind seems perfect for the brambles. a good crop choice that gives a lead into the image. you've worked good magic into the sky. i love it Darren.

your waterfront view adds loads of interest to the image, Joe. the tranformation is a perceptive one as there is actually beach right behind me as i took the shot. the image appears to have a wider aspect but may be due to the added castle reflection - i love the reflection, cleverly done, and love what you did to the sky. very well done Joe- a good place to moor your boat.

Steve, your quick edit has lovely deep rich chocolaty tones that flatter the clouds no end, accentuates the whispy sky. nice wide aspect which is so much better than the block of the original image.
what i really liked about your second edit, is the desaturation with the hint of green grass. again you worked wonders with the sky and i think the pinky clouds against the grey of the sky looks fabulous. excellent handling of all that foliage.

consequently i have found it absolutely impossible to make a preference as they are all so wonderfully different and i find them equally enchanting. because of that, i am handing Joe the next challenge which gives us all a turn.
take it away Joe, get digging in your files and come up with something for us please.

    Pippa,

Thanks for hosting an entertaining editing challenge and for your most gracious and articulate depiction of each effort. I not only had fun with this I also flexed my rather puny post processing muscles. I urge any that read this post to join in the fun of particpating in the Editors Corner as well as utilizing the critique gallery to fine tune images you'd like to submit to the contest. This is a resource that could become valuable if you choose to take advantage of it.

Joe, I'm looking forward to your submission.

    Darren
