    that is such an amazing shot - did you have to edit to get this effect - being totally clueless about the editing side of photograhy i'm only just beginning to get to grips with it - thats why im interested to know whether this came straight out of your camera or did you have to do some tweaking?

    Just about straight out of my camera. Cropped it a bit and adjusted the levels a bit, then converted it to .jpg. I shoot in RAW.

    inspired by your puffball and comment, on sunday i went out armed with my camera in search of these critters, shot in raw (like you said you did ) many different apperture settings and still did not manage to achieve the clarity and depth that you had.
    perseverence furthers ...as the saying goes.
