    Angry chocolate memory card?

I just returned from vacation with a 512mb Olympus memory card with a bunch of great(?) pics. My wife sat down at the computer to look at them while eating a frozen hershey bar (one square at a time). She got distracted and tried to bite into the memory card thinking it was the chocolate.
Unfortunately the camera asks to format the card or turn it off. Is there any way to retrieve what is on the card? There are no visible signs of damage, and my wife doesn't usually bite very hard.

I cant help but "snicker" pun intended lol
Thanks for the fun story and I'm glad your wife doesnt bite too hard.

Do you use a card reader to offload your pictures or do you just plug in your camera to the computer?
If you use the camera, I wonder if placing it in a card reader to offload the pictures first if it will work.
Once you take your pictures off the card, its ok to let the camera format your card.

There are card readers out there for no more than $20 from places like Best Buy

So, was it plain or peanut?

I tried the card reader first, it didn't work. I've been told there are places that do card retrievial, but not sure where to look. And it was "plain". Not very much taste!

Maybe the part your wife bite into was the actual gold strip that is curcial. I would think if it doesnt read in the card reader then possibly others cant retrieve the data.

What does it do when you placed the card in the read?

There is software out there that can help retrieve data. I have one that I have used at least 3 times.
Forget the name at the moment becaue I'm on my desktop and not my laptop where the software resided.
I'll go check and let you know the name and see if the demo version even helps you recognize the card
