The Lighthouse at Cape May
Here is a picture of the lighthouse at Cape May Point New Jersey. As far as I know, this is still an opeational lighthouse. It has been restored in recent years by the state of New Jersey. It is located in a state park. Visitors can climb to the top and view the surounding territory. I am too old to handle all of those stairs.

Hi Bud,
Thanks for your comments. I think there was a thread at the Nikonians web site. BTW, do you know of any reason why I can't post the picture directly? When I insert a picture, the rules at the bottom say [img] OFF. It used to work for me.Regards,

Cape May lighthouse
Ed and Budd,
I have pictures of this lighthouse too, in my premium gallery during the sunset from the ocean and beach.
I know the guy you are talking about that has a website.
He contacted me a couple months ago. I'll get his website for you and post it here.
He had offered to give me directions to some of the more obscure ones.

Not only do I love this lighthouse, but also SUNSET Beach.
I go out of my way to visit the Atlantis at least once a year.
Even asked my wife to marry me from the very location you see posted in my gallery.
Great work on the lighthouse, you did it justice.
Side Note: given the rate that the Atlantis is sinking into the sand, it should be gone around the same time I am!

Cool man, I am actually in NE Philly so even closer than you thought. If you ever get a day off, hit me up in e-mail. It would be awesome to pick a few locations and head out shooting for a few hours.
I think one of the biggest things that hold me back is that I hate doing things by myself so I wait for Mrs Classy to tag along.
I may drive by the SS United States on my way home tomorrow and scope a location for a shot. The problem is getting the fence out of the way without climbing it.
I sent the owners an e-mail to see who I need to contact about getting inside the gate, but have not heard back yet.
