Blue cats
A group of use need to photograph blue cats, and we are constantly getting 'dull black' missing out the subtle colour of the blue. Can anyone give advice how to capture a more accurate colour in the photos? Many thanks, Chris

Chris, I don't know what kind of cameras you are using, but if they have white balance adjustments, try changing them. e.g. My Nikon D50 has a whole selection: cloudy, full sun, incandescent light, fluorescent light etc. I notice when I shoot in RAW and bring them up to do the conversion, some of those settings are a lot bluer than others. If you're cameras aren't that advanced, try some of the standard settings that are available on a lot of point & shoots these days e.g. portrait. They have built in white balances... Hope that helps. Hope we get to see some posts of your 'blue cats' . I use to have a Russian Blue. He was gorgeous - biggest, laziest, most laid back cat I've ever own. He was always a conversation piece at parties as he'd pass out in the middle of a room full of people, flat on his back with his feet in the air. Several guests wondered if he'd died.
