How Much Time
Do you spend staring at the monitor, figuring out what to choose for your contest entries? Then, once you've decided how much time do you spend fixing and futzing?
And that doesn't even include the time spent actually taking the photographs!
I haven't dared try to calculater and I'm retired.
Some of you have jobs!

Sheila,
Not sure. I enjoy "revisiting" my day in the field at the monitor as much as taking the shots. I probably post process 1 out of 5 shots I click at most. Of these, probably a maximum of 10 minutes between straightening (I have found I do not have a level head
), cropping and misc. minor adjustments.
Maybe a better question is how many times a week do I re-visit Byte looking for constructive feedback on my technique and effort.Buddy

I enjoy my time at the monitor too. And I had forgotten the time I spend here and the time I spend at other sites, although I don't visit that many. I do spend a lot of time here, particularly at the end of the week when I try to look at all the photographs at the end.
Sheila.

For me it can be hours. I'm new to this forum and I can go through files that are up to 4 years old looking for an image.

I cant say that I spend a lot of time on editing each photo. I do spend a lot of time getting it right in the first place. Wildlife shots are the worst for that, a lot of time waiting for birds or animals to be in the right place. I took five hundred shots a couple of weekends back. I culled all but 112 and most of them were edited with auto levels and a bit of cropping. The best of them would have had about 10 minutes each spent on them. I find I cant sit in front of the computer too long staring at the screen as I am almost blind in one of my eyes and the strain on my good eye from this gives me a headache.
