Photographers Lounge Thread, Mars....finally #1 in BytePhoto Community; Well, I finally got some reasonably clear skies. I hope to get some more in the next couple of weeks ...

    Bud,
    What are you using as a telescope? I see you are branching out from your previous line of photographs. How much longer will Mars be close enough to get a good photo?

    Ed.....the scope is a Celestron Ultima 2000 8"...and the Nikon 5700

    Mars should still be good for shooting for another month or so.....it will be at it's closest tomorrow night......

    We still have high clouds....I'm hoping for some clear skies...we'll see.

    August 27 marks the closest that Mars and Earth have been since nearly 60,000 years ago, when the Neanderthals lived! Mars won't be this close again until 2287. Imagine what life on Earth...and maybe Mars...might be like then

    Do you know if I could mount my 5400 on a Newton telescope?
