please help noob find right digicam

hi all.... i have used digicams before, had one a while back (JVC .9mp)

now it's time to buy one again. i'm in the military and looking for something for when i go overseas in feb. i've looked through cnet.com and googled a bit, but cant really find what i'm looking for.

i dont know the correct terminology for anything digital camera.. but was hoping for someone to point me in the correct dirrection.

i'm looking for a digicam that has good quality... i dont know how good 3mp are, but maybe 4-6mp would do...

one thing if anything i HAVE to have though is UMS, (USB Mass Storage), so when i hookit up to a computer, it shows up as a hard drive without drivers or anything required. the reason i need this is because i have a 20GB MP3 player that can hook up to UMS devieces (digicams, thumb drives, and other ums mp3players) and transfer files to from it.

i need this because where i'm going i wont have access to computers that often, and i cant afford too big of a memory card.

another feature i'm looking for is to take pictures fast... like if i'm taking a picture of a cieling fan that is on, i want to see the blades in good/decent quality.. i've seen a camera at walmart that did this and wanted it. but it wasn't UMS..

another must is for it to be compact.. i want to be able to fit it in my pocket without much disccomfort..

i think that's it fot the musts, one thing i'd like is nighttime pictures... but that's not a *must*..... lol....

    thank you,
    mai0f

ok... i've been searching and i've come across 2 that i like... the fuji F10 and the fuji E510 Zoom. i'm far from done on my search, but was wondering if anyone has had problems with either of these? or if someone reccomends one better or one cheaper that does the same??

    thanks,

    Hey mai0f,

there isn't a specific fuji forum that I see, but you might try your hand in the other cameras forum www.bytephoto.com/forums/f19.html
