Looking for a 5.0 MP 10.0 optical zoom for dad >>> Christmas

I think my dad would really enjoy a nice digital camera for christmas. ive had zero time to research this, enough to know a few names of cameras that fit the requirements.

    Kodak Easyshare Z7590 - $300
    Konica Minolta DiMAGE Z5 - $300
    Fujifilm FinePix S5200 - $300

this is a hard decision to make just a few days before christmas but it must be done. a few things im looking for: ease of use/software , low or zero shutter lag.

some advice would be much appreciated.

unfortunatly, alll non DSLR camera's have shutter lag, so you cant avoid that.

I dont know much about the first 2 on your list have know from friends that they like the Fujifilm FinePix S5200
    Did you check http://www.dpreview.com ?

and do a side by side comparion with their side by side menu from the left of the screen.

Its great for seeing what each camera has you are interested in.
I know sony has some great camera's as well and take very sharp pictures.

Before I owned the Nikon D70 DSLR I owned the Olympus C3030 3.4mpx and still the Olympus C750 UZ 4mpx 10x optical zoom.

Here are some of the pics I took with the Oly 10x
From the lilly photo and all between to my first post the balooon photo

here is the link with all 3 side by side for you

    http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/comp...5200z&show=all

They all have good features some having slightly different capabilities as far as ISO options and shutter speeds.

The Fugi has the fastest shutter speed 1/2000 which is better for sport shots.
It also has the wider range of ISO including:
    Auto, 64, 100, 200, 400, 800, 1600

The Minolta you were looking at only has ISO Auto, 50, 100, 200, 320 which is very limited in my opinion.

The only thing I see that the Fugi S5200 does not have is a hot shoe for an external flash but it does have a pop up flash which could be all he really needs if its only for personal and not professional use.

Hope this helps. If I had to only make a decision between the 3 you chose.. I would go for the Fugi.

Also all only give you the 16mg card. That wont even get you 10 pictures lol
I would buy him at least a 512xd if you purchase the Fugi. You have to remember that with digital people take many more shots than they would with film because they know the cost is nothing unless they print them, so even the 64mg card would be limiting.
