    Talking Need help in understanding.......

It is Wednesday Nov 16th at around 4.30pm EST and there is something I cannot understand and maybe someone can explain for me what might be happening....

At this time my entry in the contest ranks 4th in the number of view with over 130 views....while is very nice....not one comment has been left.

I am concerned how so many people can go by.... have a look and not comment........

It is frustrating to say the lest and wonder if others might feel the same way........

    Cheers

    Ray

    Hi Ray,

I like to look through the shots during the week and in some cases I'll hold the comments until saturday.

If an image has a lot of comments and I'll just be saying more of the same, sometimes I don't comment.

It's friday and it looks like you're getting the attention now.

I'm really hard pressed to find time to comment early in the week usually (and especially the last few weeks), but I'll quite often zip through the site on a well-deserved break at work just to see what's there, then try to come back later in the week. I'm thinking with the Xmas rush that may be more the case too.

I also think a lot of people don't feel they have the 'expertise' to comment so don't. If you're new, start off simple and just say what you like - or don't. You don't have to give a score. Most of us are amateurs and we all learn more by the comments than the ratings. Hitting POTW is fun, but not what this site is all about. (imho - but don't get me wrong. I'm loving actually hitting the POTW final - just makes me feel warm). Learning is more where it's at though. I've seen some huge improvement in photographers who were posting around the same time as I started. (My own photos included.) All because they've taken constructive suggestions to heart.
