dynamic range
hi everybody,
i would like to raise a question here:
how important to you is the issue of dynamic range? how much more would you pay for a camera with a significant improvment of dynamic range (all other things being equal)?
THANKS A LOT,
omri.

I would have to be a much more serious photographer than I am and also a much more technically knowledgable one...that or have more money than I have because I imagine a camera with a greater dynamic range will be on the high end of the price scale.
However, to the professional or serious and financially endowed amateur I think it would improve digital b&w photography a lot. Not many people really understand what that looks like - grey and white is what many people at this site praise as good black and white.

thanks for your response. i am probably even less technoloicaly oriented than you... anyway, i speak about a low end - based on cmos rather than on ccd. in other words, getting a dynamic range of about 75db for the price of a simple camera.
is dynamic range relevant only to b&w photographing??

I'm not sure, most likely not, but I think that's a very good use for it.
