    Sluice Gates

his is a photo of a sluice gate used to equalize the depth of the Delaware & Raritan canal due to the different elevations of the two rivers the canal intersects. These gates have been installed in place of the old locks. The two buildings on the right were built around the time the canal was opened. They are in use today by the Parks Department.

    Joel,
This is a beautiful image of the locks and the lock house. I would post this image on the contest page, but you would need to size it down to 800x600 and no more than 200KB, so that people with smaller monitors could view it easily.

Your clarity, lighting color and depth of field are very well captured in your image. The clouds at the very top of your image are little too bright, but otherwise the image is very beautiful.

We have old locks like the one in your image here in the Midwest too.
