Hi, I just noticed this thread. There's a very good source book published annually callewd "Photographer's Market". You could try to pick up a used on at Amazon and even if it's not the 2005 copy it will still have good information in it.

I've just started using www.totallyphotos.com they are new and seem keen for new photographers.
They seem to pay more than the standard cheap sites - so far I've been impressed.
It's nice for a change not to have my photos competing with a million others ... although I'm waiting to see how well they promote themselves.
I've already started planning how I'll spend all my earnings
(call me an optimist).

Another site
I work as a Mac Artworker for a print company and often use the website istockphoto.com for a variety of inexpensive stock photos.
the site has worked out superbly for us to buy in photos, not sure how you would feel about selling them for the prices, anyway, if you have 5 minutes take a look.
It also has a big brother site - istockpro.com
If you dont use them for uploading photos to, they are both great sites for inspiration.
Take care all
PS, each of the above links need the www. in front of them, I have not posted enough to be able to include them in this poste

suppose a tee shirt maker purchased one of your 'stock' shots for $2-3 (including all rights) and ran off 100,000 tees at $14.95

Some people....
Duh!
Not forcing you to use it John, just passing on another photo selling website I know of.
I think everyone on here is aware that a photograph you put up on the web could be "stolen" or used incorrectly, whether it was bought legitamately or not. That T Shirt manufacturer could have bought the photo for ’…’‚‚£200 and would still get a bargain if he sold 100,000 t shirts.
Use these sites as and how you wish, as I said in my last post, they are great to see what other people are doing, the inspiration is excellent.

totallyphotos.com
Well the latest update is my images were accepted onto the site of totallyphotos and in two days I have had a sale, so at this rate, for a housewife with a passion for photography it was a good decision for me to venture into the stockphotography market. Sorry if I've upset some of you but realistically I'm never gonna go out there and sell my shots for thousands of dollars. Thanks Totallyphotos and I fully recommend this site for others.
