Where's Mike (wd8n)?
Earlier today Mike (wd8n) posted some comments on my "Birds of a Feather ll" and those comments have subsequenly disappeared. I understand that his comments were pulled from at least one other photo in this week's contest.
I wanted to send him a PM but I can't find his profile, gallery, or anything else on him. Did he quit the site? ... was he kicked off the site? Or, am I just not searching properly?
Seems a bit mysterious to me.

Mike if you poke your head back in and find this post - hope you reconsider and decide to stick around with the many friends you've made here - I value the help, encouragement and the sharing of knowledge you always so freely give - if you find another home on the net, send me a link to your new album, I'd love to keep in touch - emcjak@hotmail.com - either way take care, all the very best to you and your family, I hope the future holds many happy times for you all - thanks for everything.

So, when someone chooses to leave, all their posts get yanked? Why was his comment pulled from a member's photo?Originally posted by RVB Pix

This is very bad. Mike you are going to be missed like crazy around here. Your pictures are amazing and an inspiration to many of us. Thankyou so much for all the help you have given me in the past. I would love to be able to continue to enjoy your work if possible, so please let us know where you move to.
This is a very bad day for Bytephoto.

This is indeed a sad day. I have a great deal of respect for both Mike's skills and his critiques. Like Julie, and I'm sure others, I valued his help, encouragment, and liberal sharing of knowledge. I enjoyed his work and I learned a lot from him.
MIke, if you are reading this, I too would like to know where your new gallery is.
You will be missed here.
Chuck
PS: I can't imagine what would cause Mike to make such a deliberate move. It's just not making sense to me.Last edited by chuckinsoc; May 10th, 2005 at 01:38 PM.

Mike's e-mail
I am not sure if any of you have this or not but Mike gave me his e-mail so we could discuss things at depth and I am pretty sure he wouldn't mind me giving it to you

Chronos,
So that Mike doesn't get bombarded with e-mails asking "why?", maybe you could fill us in on what motivated him to resign the site.
If you'd rather do it privately, my e-mail is chuckc@nethere.com.
Of course, I'm not asking you to violate any confidence Mike may have put in you, but it's probably better that we have some idea of his thought process rather than trying to speculate which only leads to rumors and misinformation floating around the site.

OOps!
My post wasn't very clear, Mike gave me the e-mail last week before he decided to leave and he didn't discuss it with me. Ithink the only people he might have discussed it with that I know are the moderators.
As far as bombarding him, I don't think the e-mails from here will blow out his e-mail server.

So that's why I do not see Mikes pictures around. Its sad. Loosing a skilled photographer and not having to look at his works and not having some comments from him so that we can learn more.

I just stumbled on this old link from 2005.
It made me do a search on Mike's id on the internet and look what I found.
