I am so new to this.. LOL I have been using a digital camera for about 4 years, and just got a new HP R707 about 6 months ago. I have a couple questions. Is this camera a decent one, or am I just not proficient enough using it? and I have taken about 500 pictures that are all saved on my Computer, but saved as HP0087654!!???! Is there an easy way to group, Catalog, and rename all of these files? Or do I have to open EACH ONE, and the close it, right click, rename and repeat for all 500 Pictures?? Please help a n00bie out. I am a little overwhelmed?

If you have a decent program like Photoshop Elements or Jasc Paint Shop Pro, or any one that does Batch processing, you can rename all of them at once. Different programs use different steps, so check the help section of that program. There are several programs available to catalogue and sort images also.

Mikes' advice is good....but I guess the first question is........are all 500 shots worth keeping?...if so, then the camera must be oK.
Usually if I take ten shots, only about one or two are worth keeping and maybe only one really worth printing. I suppose it's because digital makes us a bit lazy.....doesn't really cost anything to take extra shots.

I'd personally go through each one and pick the keepers, and then name them something that might make them easier to find later.....until you do this, it really doesn't matter what the camera named them.....after all, this is what rainy days are for.
