First of all, aplogogies if this is in the wrong forum.

It is my first post. I am a novice in comparison to all here. My current camera is a Sony Digital, but it was dropped on the ground, and no longer functions. I bought it 3 years ago, so it's time for an upgrade. I am hoping that you can help.

I am looking for a camera (and/or lens) that will allow me to zoom in for super close up pics. I don't need super high resolution, since these pics would simply be posted on the internet. I will give a specific example of how I will be using it. I will be going to the Bayhill Invitational Golf tournament here in Orlando. I will have to stand behind ropes, but I would like to get some super closeups of the clubs in player's bags, so I can post them on a golf message board I am a member of. My budget is $1000.
