Whats with the 10's?

Whats up with all the 10's in the critiques. Come on guys. I see a lot of nice work here, but not a lot of perfect photos that deserv 10's. Not even 9's. If you are going to take the time to critique someones work I believe it shoud be done with honesty. Constructive and polite, but honest. If you tell someone there work is a 10, then they have no where to improve on the photograph. It must be perfect in order to recieve a 10.

How many of you can honestly say you deserved the 10's you recieved? Are they perfect? No room for improvement?

I just wanted to vent. Don't get me wrong, They're are a lot of nice photographs here, but lets be honest with each other so we can all learn and improve our skills. Then why post here? If we all had *10* work, we'd all be in galleries selling our work instead of posting here for free.

Thats not my point. My point is, that 10's are given out with out thought too many times. How many 10's have you seen that were perfect photo's? My guess would be less then 5%. A 10 is a perfect score. It is only deserving to rate a perfect photo a 10.

You are only hurting and prohibiting ones growth by falsely giving 10's.

Actually I do see 10's on photos that are not even close to 8's and even 7's but those seem to be not honest votes if you catch my drift.
There are also newer people on this site that are not familiar with what photos should have in respect to technical and or composition. That could be some of what you are seeing too

well, there is also the fear of retaliation votes...that would cause someone to vote higher...
