Airport security and digital cameras what can't i bring? I have a lot of stuff I have a D Rebel and lots of goodies. Can anyone help me as to what I cany " carry" onto the plane? Thanks.....................Lamont :>)

Hi Lamont. In May we flew within Canada and I took everything exept a tripod. It was all packed into a Lowepro Minitrekker. DRebel, 4 lenses, extra battery, battery charger plus cable, various other bits and pieces. Took it on the plane as carry-on luggage. Of course, before you get on the plane security have to have a look in your bag and also swab camera and lenses, but there was no trouble. Everything went fine. In the States things may be a little different though. We flew to LA 2 years ago, didn't have quite so much stuff, but everything was OK. Have a good and safe trip, and good 'shooting.' [F.R.]

Why did they have to swab your lense?
That baffles me.
I went through customs into Canada and all they asked was do I have liquor on board and were my dogs vaccinated.
They didnt even look at the paperwork we brought for the dogs. But of course checked our passports

Hi Ruth, I'm pretty sure the swabbing is a test for explosives, gunpowder, etc. We went from Toronto to Edmonton. In Toronto they swabbed all lenses and camera. In Edmonton when we came back they just swabbed the camera and lens attached. Don't forget Ruth, we were flying and this is what they do in airports. If I remember rightly you drive with your motorhome and probably came accross the border that way, therefore no swabbing. Hope you enjoyed your stay in Canada. [F.R.]

pretty scary when you think of it, they cant get by in a plane but if they drive in and out of the country they wont get checked

Seems so Ruth but I suppose they know what they are doing, eh! So glad you had a great time...I have a secret to share with you...we have now lived in Canada for 22 years and have never been to Ottawa, but that's our secret!!!
No wonder I have not seen anybody's pictures lately, you have all deserted me and gone over to the Premium Gallery, I'll have to see what I can do about it. I promise I wont let your secret out to the world lol.
I have used my CC on the net a number of times. I always make sure its a reputable place and look at the bottom left or right of the browser to be sure it has the secure icon for the page I am about to enter my info.
So far I havent had a problem.
Just uploaded some more of Ottawa and still have a few more I want to load.
