Drive By Shooting
Took three or four shots just stopping at various places driving to my next job while at work. This photography lark is seriously effecting my performance. (Hehe) Heres the first. Taken with my C3040. I still love that camera.
Thanks for looking. All critiques welcome and appreciated.

A very fine result, sharp, nicely composed, colourful..
Personnally, I would have preferred a little less road to the right.Kind Regards.

Thanks RVB
I think you were right, it did throw it a little off balance. I've recropped it, I wanted to just leave a little of the road in for the title.

That's exactly how I would have cropped it...
Kind Regards.

You do great work all around Matt.... looks real nice. I like the crop (just a touch of road showing? -- you must have edited it since the first comment) Makes your eye run right across the picture.

What did you use? Tripod? Just natural light? Any zoom?

Where's your Post
Great Shot Matt!
I was worried that you took our criticism's too hard the other day and decided not to post any more but I can see that I am wrong.
I too am a drive by shooter. Most of my images are of that variety, in fact that is something I am working hard on trying to give myself assignments and deadlines so I can improve my ability of scouting out and planning shots.
When I said the other day that you can do more what I meant to do was get you to push yourself to try new things. I think you shoot great Landscapes and Architecture but I kinda noticed you getting into a rut. Some of your early posts like of Ross Concentrating, Meditation, The two kids walking in the mist and Froggy were great and I think you should explore more with your Photography so you lose the boring feeling you were having.
As far as this Lark affecting your performance keep in mind that this sort of thing is also important, to most of us who feel creative any way.
This shot is from my way home the other day. I wanted to try some sundown beach photo's so I could do the blurry water thing.
If you everneed an idea for a personal assignment let me know I have tons of ideas just not enough time.Bracket, Bracket, Bracket!

Hi Chronos
Hi Chronos. I hope it didn't come across that I was offended. Trust me the Mrs says much worse things about my photos every day. She thinks I'm useless at photography. If anything I appreciate your honesty and you gave me some great advice which I've partly taken on board. So please carry on being honest, I can take it.
As for assignments, you should let RVB Pix and Plarson know your ideas. They are always looking for ideas for the assignment section so I'm sure they would welcome some more suggestions. I enjoy assignments but at the moment I just can't spare the time, so I have to take pics as opportunities present themselves.
Great shot as Usual with the beach. Love the colours and the quality is excellent. What shutter speed did you use. Looks like the low clouds were moving a bit as well adding to the effect. I've wanted to get down to the coast for a while now to try some dreamy slow shutter speed shots.
Thanks
Matt
