This site is great! :))- btw I'm new :)
I found this site last night while trying to find somewhere I could upload my digital photos to and get feedback on how I can improve.
This site seems to be exactly what I was looking for!
I have already seen what helpful people there are here and appreciate the honest criticism which you give to each other. I'm hoping that this will help me become a better photographer.
I have only been seriously taking photos for a few months, had the camera for about a year.

Thanks for the welcome
I have uploaded some new photos but after looking at some of the other member galleries I really want to take more photos and hopefully of a higher quality - lol.

Tara,
You have some really neat stuff. What kind of camera are you using? I look forward to seeing more.

Hi Colin,
Thanks for the great feedback you have been leaving - I find it really helpful. I am using a Canon IXUS 330. It is only a 2.1mp with a 3 x optical zoom but I find the quality of the photos quite high. I have had it for about a year and looked at www.dpreview.com before deciding on what camera I wanted to buy.
I would love to buy some of the cameras that I have seen people using around here but I would preview to become a better photographer first
I have added my webpage to my profile so if you would like to have a look please do so. I am mainly concentrating on flowers at the moment as they don't move

Tara,
Flowers are one of the greatest ways to learn control of lighting...plus they are just fun to photograph. When you get some uploaded, drop me a PM so I can take a look.

I uploaded some more photos last night. A lot of the photo shots I was telling you about but also some extra photos that I took last night on the way home.
Just being a member of this site has enthused me to take more photos and to have my camera with me always.

uploading
I agree this is a good site but I cannot see how to get started on the process of uploading into my gallery. Our e-mail says I am successfully registered. Thanks for help.

JLMJRM - if you click on the gallery button at the top of the page you should then come to a page that has:
Home | Profile | Upload Photos | Logout
at the top of the page.
Click on the Upload Photos
Choose Member Galleries unless you want the photo to go into the Photo of The Week competition (only 2 per week allowed)
Click on browse and find the file on your computer you want to upload.
Fill in the title etc and then press upload/submit
Hope this helps

Thanks, for your help Tara. One minute after i asked you i figured out that I needed to login again on the gallery page, for the upload photos sign to show up. It hadn't been on the page till after i did that. I felt like an Idiot, but oh well. Thanks anyway.

no problem at all JLMJRM
One thing I would recommend though when uploading photos is that you might want to decrease the file size of some of your photos otherwise the members that are still on 56kb modems or less will have a hard time viewing the high quality pics.
The first photo I uploaded was about 700kb but now I try to keep them to about 250kb.
Other than that your pics are great!
