    I could use more comments

    Hi All,

I am new here and have started posting more of my pictures here. I am looking for more advice and comments on my pictures. Or even just Ideas. Ratings are fine, But would like suggestions in place of ratings.

    Thanks in advance

Gallerys are a good place to post, but the reviews are much smaller if none in that area.

If your looking for more reviews, I would recommend post a photo or two in the POTW contest. I will admit you will get much more traffic and much better resposes.

You are allow to post 2 photos a week and the photos are dumped every Sat. Night. So start posting....

Another option is to place the photo into a post in this forum

Here is a sample > this recent post in this forum with photo included A reflection of winter

    Bluwing,
You have some really pretty pics of some nice places. The main things I could say is that overall the colors are very neutral. Just a bit more of a color POP would add to some of your photos. Do you ride a GoldWing? I do.

Hey...are you a Uper? (I think thats how y'all spell it) I have a really great friend from up there...I bet you're cold now! I lived in Holland, MI for several years and loved taking pics of Big Red during the seasons...froze my butt off sometimes but could never stop taking pics.

Several comments I have about your gallery is:
    1. there are a lot of scenery pics (thats fine, you live in a beautiful state)
    2. Most of your scenery pics are from a distance and seem flat

What do I mean? Several rules of composition talk about leading lines, rule of thirds, depth etc. I like this last one the most... depth means there is something in the fore, middle and background of the pic adding dimension. You can do this by including a tree branch in an upper corner, getting down low to the ground and including a rock or object up close, or with leading lines...don't have streets going straight into your photo unless your going for that effect (usually B&W city shots are like this with interesting architecture) but have the paths, streets, fecnces, etc. going across your photo...but leading into the subject.

The best thing I can suggest is looking at the other photags here at BP...go to POTW and set the option for most popular and then go to the photag's galleries...find something you like and then try to copy it (for practice) in the U.P.

I think you're on the right track...just expose yourself to more great photography and eventually you'll know what is good, better and best when looking through your own viewfinder and choosing to move that tree from dead center off the the side a little more...

Best of luck and keep posting

    Hi Dave,

They call us Yoopers and lower michigan people are called Loopers. I have been trying different things and I hope that I am improving. The pics are on hold for awhile as I am going for knee surgery today.

I really appreciate all the comments and help that is giving!! books are fine for the basics but never as good. Thanks for the support And hope that I keep getting more comments and Ideas.

    Thanks,
    bluwing (Rudy)

I left you a comment on one of your photos!

    Good luck and god bless!

Hope your surgery will not have an effect on your ability to ride.
