    colour management issue - HELP!!!

    i am using photoshop CS2.

for some reason i cant save my edited images to jpeg.

i used to be able to save as a jpeg and then i stupidly fiddled around in my colour settings - i dont know what i've done but now when i use "save as" i only have a few extensions available to me- no jpeg. cant be positive but i'm sure the problem is to do with my colour settings.

also when i open my raw images a message pops up saying colours do not match and i have a choice to proceed with the current working space or use the colours that are imbedded with the shot i'm opening.

i dont want to have to use the save for web option - the last time i did that it altered the colours in my image.

i hope someone out there knows what i'm talking about (muddled again!) or can point me to an idiot proof web link.

i'd be grateful for any help, please.
    thanks
    pippa

    Pippa,
As you know CS2 has lots of buttons and tabs, but so does your camera. You may want to confirm what color space the camera is using also.

I assume you can save your edits, but not to jpeg? If this is the case, you will want to check the mode and confirm you are saving in 8-bit as (I recall) jpeg isn't available in 16 bit on CS2.
May not help - but hopefully it will.

ah thanks Buddy - think you cracked it.

my camera colour space is set to sRGB. the choices i have are 'AUTO'; 'Adobe RGB or SRGB'; and 'OFF'. my understanding is sRGB is for web use. so perhaps i should give Adobe RGB a go - unless you have some advice on this?

and, yes, i can save edits but not to jpeg. i'm editing in 16 bit so its likely thats where my problem lies - thanks, i'll go back and look at my options (must've changed something along the way)

    cheers for that, great help.
