    Image restoration

My wife asked me to restore her mother's photo taken in 1948. The output was to be a 4x6 print. I left the photographer's stamp on the photo at her request. This is my first attempt at restoration using anything but a clone tool. Here I used the patch, healing brush, clone tool and some selective blurring. I had to invent some more background to come into the 4x6 format. Then adjusted the levels. I've never tried this before. It took me about an hour to do. Let me know what you think. Now let's see if this works. I can take photos but html?

I do alot of restoration work and have taught it in college classes and I must say that for a first time you did great. The only things I saw were small nitpicking things that with practice will disappear. Keep up the good work.

You did a good job, but with a lot of practise you can do the job in less time. I myself do a lot of restauration work, specially on slides with a lot of dust and scratches.
