For posting I suggest you resize PSD in Elements, 800 x 600. Sharpen this with USM (try 12, 50, 0). Then save as JPG, around 250kb is enough. Larger files are a waste of server band width and viewers time.

First off ... what size are your images to be concerned that they are over 2 MEGS? Remember if you are showing online (through a web site for example) the maximum resolution a monitor can provide from the web is 72dpi.

That being said I would suggest you create a web copy of your image ... Using elements or ACDSee's Real Optimizer plugin
    Real Optimizer Plug-in

Really for any web page to load quickly you will have to get the images down much lower than two megs

Try reducing your web images to say 800x600 or 640x480 that way you images are smaller and dont kill you on the size ...

Does that get to what you are asking for?

average jpeg size is around 6 or 7 megs or if saved in higher resolution then the file size is 16 megs..makes for nice prints but bad to post..will size them down to 800 by 600 for web and think that works for all who view them..thanks to all who responded
