    I gave it a try, but there seems to be a step missing as the gaussian blur did not get me to the pencil sketch effect, but a much lighter image.(somewhere around step 8 or 9) I am quite interested in this, so please re-confirm the steps for me.

    Hi Buddy!

    Thanks for checking it out... would it be possible for you to post your result after the gaussian blur, so I can see how it looks? I have found that for images with lots of detail the gaussian blur usually does the trick, however, for images or portraits where there is not a lot of intricate details you may want to try the motion blur and see how the results come out. Please feel free to ask me any questions regarding this method, I would love to see your results also
