Nameless Voting
I belong to several sites that are similar to this one and some of them allow the names on photos and some of them don't. I really prefer the ones where the names are eliminated so the voting can be blind and not affected by friendship. I am curious to know what the other people on this site think.

Sorry Myrle, that is actually impossible with this system.
The website you are talking about, I and others here have been or still are members.
Photos are submitted and no one sees the photos at all and they are chosen by anonymous judges. Their system isnt run with the same software we are running. I've had a quick glance at their software on the back end because Steve and I visited Todd and Cathy last April while were down that way on a business trip.
With Bytephoto, we are concentrating more on the feedback throughout the year on members photos.
Even if we were able to hide the image for Photo of the Week, once the winner is revealed, then the rest of the year, for POTM, POTQ, BOC etc, everyone will know who the image belongs to, there is no way around it.
With the software that runs Bytephoto, there is not any way to even hide the owner of the image or the exif data on submitted photos.
If you are worried about friends voting for their friends photos, sure, some may vote for a friends photo, but you would be surprised that from what I watch closely of all the votes, people are not voting just for their friends, they are voting for the image they think should win.
As long as we have been owners since end of 2009, we have not seen one member win because of the votes coming from friends. Its as legit as any photo contest can be.
I think all the members here like knowing who the photo belongs to when they comment, it makes it more personal that they can help each other learn
