New Black & White Category
Since so many members now seem to be submitting extraordinary b/w images to the contest each week and we also now have enough "Quality" entries in the other 5 categories, we have decided to create the new Black & White / Sepia / Duotone Category.
Rules:
- All "Quality" entries into the B&W / Sepia / Duotone category each week will be placed into the finalists for the current week.
- Should there be an overload of B/W's and a shortage in one of the other 5 categories, those overload of B/W images will be placed in one of the 5 designated categories, i.e. People, Scenic, Animal, Still Life/Macro, Abstract/DA
So that our May Photo of the Month will have 4 weekly finalists and not 2, I reviewed all POTW finalists for the 1st 2 weeks of May and chose the highest voted b/w entry for each week #18 & #19 to become the B/W POTW winner.
If the winner that week in its category, happened to already be a b/w photo, I chose the 2nd place winner that week who had entered a b/w photo.
coincidentally both weeks happened to be the people category.
Both Don and Sam fall into that category
This means that Don and Sam will now be up for the Photo of the Month finals for May
So that our Photo of the 2nd Quarter has 3 finalists and not only 2 come the end of June, I went back to all April POTW finalists and looked at all the
b/w entries to see who had the most votes. Turns out Steven's image had the most votes for POTW voting all 5 weeks which had originally placed him in 2nd place for POTM.
Steven now became our April POTM in the b/w category and I replaced the 2nd place winner with another member.
This means that Steven is now up for POTQ finals (April-May-June) when its posted in July.
I also changed the front page April POTM winners and Week 19 POTW Winners along with the forum announcements
