Voting becoming more intense and more fun

As my time increases here on BytePhoto, I find myself being challenged more and more when it comes to voting. The quality of the images here is incredible. I find myself stumped on what to vote on and catch myself looking more at the mechanics of the shot along with the content. This is helping me improve my skills along with making this more and more fun. Cheers to you all for what you do and what you share with the rest of us. It's nice to be a member of something so special and to feel like it's a "fit"

Its becoming a challenge each week to choose the finalists as well. I always have some that I had to leave out.
Then come time for voting like you said is even harder.

When I choose the finalists I set my view mode so I can view the thumbnails all on one page.
Then I scroll through and pick out the ones that immediately grab my attention.

I look for things like a compelling composition, leading lines, quality lighting, interesting subject, good exposure and focus where it needs to be, creativity. I'm inspired each week just seeing so many creative submissions.

Many of you are becoming so good that you are almost competing against yourself as well as other members.
I'm also seeing some members who joined being a bit newer to photography, or at least with digital photography, having grown quite a bit since they first started posting, its fun to watch your images posted every week and watch the progression
By the end of the voting week, I'm on edge watching the votes come in, especially for Best of Category voting that is going on now. BOC is usually so close that you never know until the last 12 hours or less of voting who will win.

I feel that I have definately improved since first joining. It used to be that I just put in a shot that I happened to like but I now find myself asking 'why' I like it, what makes it good / bad and how it could be improved. Thanks to all (especially Jerry) who are helping me grow as a photographer. Sue

I haven't been a member that long however I find it more enjoyable each time I visit. I would also like to thank "Mr. & Mrs. Byte" for this site and the time it takes to make it what it is; Great group of photographers! Have a Great Sunday everyone!
