Did I bust my camera?
On vacation I was taking pictures with my Pentax Optio 50 and decided to change the batteries and smart card just before going over the last hill before the San Francisco skyline. I had trouble getting the fresh card to go in, in fact I couldn't get the little cover to close fully. I also put in fresh batteries. Duh, finally I realized I had put the card in backwards. This time it slipped in perfectly, I closed the cover, and found the power would not come on. I put in fresh batteries, but no cigar. I got home yesterday, changed the batteries again, changed back to the original card, but no good. I plugged the camera into the computer in the hope that the power would work, but nothing. Does anyone know how I should proceed? Thanks in advance,

Get a bigger hammer that card will go in. Plug it into house power to see if it needs a bit extra. OK, so don't do either of those things. Send your cam back to Pentax to see what it's going to cost for not paying attention to what you were doing.

are you sure you had your batteries in correctly? all 4 have to be in correctly or it wont work. Usually 2 oppositi of what the other two go in
