Best setup for taking butterfly pics

    Greetings!

My wife and I are heading out to butterfly world here on Vancouver Island tomorrow and I was wondering if anyone has suggestions for the best lens setup for this situation. This is an indoor "Butterfly Farm" I have a FZ20 with olympus add on lenses including macro, wide angle and a teleconvertor (tcon 14b).

Any suggestions, hints etc. would be most appreciated.

    Regards

    EJM

Fast shutter speed and a lot of patience LOL

Try ISO at 320 or up to 400.
    Fstops from F4.5 to F8

Always watch your background. Try to find something that is all one color or something pretty so that when you use selective focus the butterfly is in focus but the backround is blurred.

Most of mine have blurred backgrounds or somewhat nice in the background colors except the "Pearly Crescent" I just posted that one because I had never seen one before and just couldnt get a better shot of it because it flew away too fast lol.

See some of mine here, not all show the exif data. Some turned out better than others, but I was just posting them to try to name the different varieties

Have fun and post some here when you get back and leave a msg in the forum to alert us or post to the contest
