Panasonic FZ20

Finally decided to buy the fz20 after a great deal of research and checking the reviews.
My first impressions are that this camera is fantastic, my first 2 attempts using the P mode only has produced some truly stunning pictures.
I will explore the features more and when I am sure that it was not just beginners luck I will post some pics.
The x 12 is fantastic even without a tripod the results are amazing.

I bought a Panasonic FZ20 three days ago as a replacement for my Minolta Dimage Z1. So far I can say I am delighted about the possibilities of this camera, it is just great. Zoom 12x and the pictures are sharp, no shake. Just great. Colors are wonderful too. I am still in the learning phase so I can't tell more, yet.

That is a good idea. I am taking pictures and then when reviewing them I make a short voice recording with the picture, just to memorize what I have done. And then to my computer and comparing the pictures and the settings.
I have no idea how to upload photographs to this forum as I just registered today. Maybe you have to put them somewhere on the internet and then put a link in your message?

I have now uploaded 5 pics taken at Kingston Lacey House Dorset England they were taken on a sunny day in june 2005 the sharpness was set up a notch and the original pics were at the max jpg size of 2560x1920 pixels and reduced to 2048x1536 pixels to enable upload.

Regarding Witchy's query on posting photos, you can do this one of two ways - if you click on user CP, just click on 'Upload Photos' and enter the information the form asks for (you'll be uploading from your computer). You can choose where you photo will be posted - just remember if you enter the Photo Contest you can only upload two.

Another way to upload photos is to just click/enter the gallery you want to add a photo to - Photo of the Week Contest (limit 2), one of the critique galleries, or just your photo album and as above just enter the information the form asks for.

Hope that clears things up for you.

Thanks I did manage to load some pics into the gallery area but your comments are very helpful as I was not sure about the other options..

Thanks for your advice. I had not noticed that one could upload to this site. So now I have uploaded one photo and had problems describing in English what the photo was about. Well, I'll learn. How come Racingdoc that you have in the exif info more information like which program you used (auto) and I don't? I took this picture in Landscape mode, but I want to learn to choose my own settings as soon as possible. Especially when photographing my dogs running and playing and choosing a shutter speed. Any advice? 1/500? 1/1000?

The Exif info on my pics was a surprise to me I am not sure how it got there!!! I thought that I read in the manual somewhere that the Landscape, Portrait type modes etc do not contain this info, However I read the manual thru again and just cant find it any more.
My pics were taken using the P mode so that may be the difference.
If you find the answer may be you could let me know. In the meantime I will try to upload a pic taken in Landscape mode.

I have taken about 200 pictures and after long consideration en printing two of them, I find that there is too much yellow in the picture. In order to get a more natural color, I have to use Photoshop Elements to give them a bit more blue. This is something I am very disappointed about or maybe I'm doing something wrong. Is there anybody who can give me advice?

All cameras creating JPG files store exif information in the file.

This can be caused by incorrect W/B settings. I would haveto see a picture withthe exif file to make sure.
