can anyone out there help me?!?!
Hello
I am owner of a FE-190/x-750 Digital olympus camera. Few months ago I noticed my camera would just not turn on! I press power the lens sometimes would pop out but thats it!! I dont know what was wrong with it? I would take out the battery and charge it and it still would not work so the battery was NOT the issue. I bought this camera this year so it is relativly new.
ANd get this I bought my camera from futureshop and i handed it in a few months ago to get it fixed because of this problem. Well they took a full month to fix my camera and u know what? I bring the camera home and try to use it and it has the same damn problem!!! can you believe how frustrating this would be? specially for someone who is extremly busy! I just dont know what to do now, does anyone here have any ideas what I can do from here? I know if i give it back to them (futureshop) they will just take it for another month, and i REALLy need the camera for this month (october) I am so frustrated their must be something someone can help me with? Im so tired of trying over and over to fix it myself, can anyone out there direct me where to go?

i don't know where in the world you are or what your consumer protection rights are do you have small claims courts or a local trading standards office . if it were me i check this out and talk to them how to proceed. AND:
1. go back to the shop and ask for the manager (go to the top), explain to her/him what has happened and you would like the camera replaced with a brand new one. if no joy with that, i would:
2. put your complaint in writing and send it to the shop's head office. if its a small outfit, address your letter to the managing director of the shop, and say you would not be happy with another repair attempt and you would like the camera replaced. (always keep a copies of your dated letters). Still no joy, i would:
3. write a follow up letter saying you are dis-satified with the way they have handled the situation and you intend to take legal action/small claims court action/consumer rights office (any of those).
4. failing all of the above, tell them you will cause them bad publicity, ie blogs, local paper etc.
hope you've had a result already.

PS: think its best not to tamper with it yourself - it may show that you have fiddled with it and then the shop would be in a more powerful position saying that you broke it iin the first place. also dont admit that you have tampered with it , it gives them a getout clause.
