E-500 lenses
I bought the 2 lens version of the Evolt-E500, but have been frustrated at the lack of auto focus zoom lenses available. I bought an Opteka 500mm mirror lens and an adaptor so it fits onto my E500, but this takes the lens up to 1000mm, and it's simply too much for practical use. The autofocus alone is an incredible pain, way harder to use than I'd imagined it would be.
Does anyone know of an adaptor ring that works with autofocus lenses so I can look for Canon lenses etc? Or is there another lens manufacturer that makes E-500 compatible zoom lenses with more power than the 150mm that I have now without costing more than the camera? I have a friend with a Canon Digital Rebel who has a 300mm lens and I'm suffering from lens envy :-)
ps just so I know for sure - a zoom lens lets you vary the magnification, a telephoto lens has a fixed magnification - is that correct?
