Olympus C-5050 not working properly

I have a C-5050 which has good batteries in it but when I attemt to take a picture nothing appears in the monitor. I have hit the quick view button twice as manual states but see no picture. I have also switched to use the monitor as a viewfinder and although all the particular features show I cannot see the scene in the monitor I wish to shoot. Do I have some camera setting that need to be tweaked? I even tried a different card (went from xd to sm) and had the same results. The camera has been working fine up to this point and I am at a loss as to what may be wrong. I hope it is something simple with a setting that is causing the problem. Any and all help is appreciated. As I said batteries are ok and camera turns on and off fine. I have formatted the cards and still am having this problem. Thanks....

I just checked the Olympus site there is a recall on the C-5050 with what sounds like a similar problem.

Thanks for the response. My camera is on the list of camera's having a CCD problem. I have contacted Olympus and they sent instructions on how to go about returning the camera for free repair plus reimbursement of shipping charges. You saved me big bucks.
