    New SP-350... questions!

    Hi all,

I just got a new SP-350 Olympus camera. I've been playing with it a while, and I love it! The only thing that bugs me is that, even when set to "My" mode, the image quality settings will not stay. When I turn off the camera, the camera defaults back to HQ. I would like the default to be SHQ. Is there any way to set this?

    Thanks!!
    Nick Jacques

Not sure about the 350 but other Olympus cameras used to have a menu option called "ALL RESET" Which could be set to off so that when you turn the camera off and back on all your settings would remain as they were. Have a dig around the menus and see if you can find it.

    Cheers

Okay, I figured it out, so if anyone else wants to know how to save settings on an SP-350, this is it:

Note: You can't save settings for "Auto". The camera won't allow it. You CAN save settings for "My" on the camera wheel.

    1. Dial the wheel to "My".
    2. Set your picture quality settings, etc.
    3. Press OK to get into the main menu.
    4. Arrow RIGHT to get into the mode menu.
    5. Set options in Camera and Picture.
    6. Go to Setup.
    7. Arrow RIGHT to enter setup menu.
    8. Arrow DOWN 7 times to "My Mode Setup".
    9. Arrow RIGHT to enter the My Mode Setup menu.
    10. "Current" is selected. Arrow RIGHT.
    11. "My Mode 1" is selected. Press OK.
    12. Arrow UP to select set. Press OK.
    13. Press OK two times to get out of the menus.

Now, your settings (my camera is set to SHQ instead of HQ, for example) will stay, provided you keep the camera dialed to the "My" setting. Any other modes won't carry those settings over.
