Unhappy Cracked LCD Screen - Worth Fixing?

    PLEASE ADVISE!!!

    I have a C-750 Ultra Zoom.

I dropped it about 3 feet onto a wood floor.

    The camera works perfectly.

    The LCD screen is cracked.

Any idea how much it will cost to fix??

Olympus will ususally do damage repairs, but there not cheap. I have seen many cost like that start at the $200 range and go UP.

It would be worth contacting them to see what it will cost. I would also recommend checking around to some of your local Digital Repair locations, many times there closer and cheaper.

This is where a good warranty would have come into play. A lot of people dont buy them or if there do buy them dont read what they actually cover. I have always said a good warranty is worth EVERY PENNY!

    Good Luck

    THE SKINNY ON OLYMPUS REPAIRS!!

OK EVERYONE!!! HERE IT IS!!! VERY COOL (IF YOU ASK ME)

OLYMPUS CHARGES A FLAT RATE OF $144 FOR ALL REPAIRS OF DIGITAL CAMERAS... REGARDLESS OF WHAT'S WRONG... THAT INCLUDES LABOR AND PARTS.

I BROUGHT MINE DIRECTLY TO OLYMPUS IN CYPRUS, CA AND IT WAS FIXED IN LESS THAN 24 HOURS.

THEY REPLACED THE LCD SCREEN, THE ENTIRE BACK, ADJUSTED THE SHUTTER AND THE FOCUS AND DID A COMPLETE CLEANING.

BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER SEEN!!

    Thats great!!!

They must have came down in price, the last time I call I think it was $245, but that was about 2 years ago.

Glad to here it worked out so well...

Its always nice when you live near a repair place.

I wish I would have read this post about 6 months ago. I smacked my Olympus C4000 against a rock while taking photos and cracked the LCD. I just bought a used camera for about $200.00. I could have saved some money. I guess I will know for the future. Thank you.

HI, $144 sounds great. some independant shops quoted me much higher for the cracked screen on my stylus 400, so i haven't acted yet. does this only apply in the u.s. or will it be the same in the uk?

    thanks
