question re xd cards
I'm new to digital photog'y and have an Olympus that takes xd crds. I often see fuji cards advrtsd that seem chpr than olymp's own. Olympus tell you that fuji crds must be formatted for use with olymp. Why is that necessary and what would happen if you forgot?
Anyone recommend a xd crd rdr that is cheap and good: most seem a tad expensve. I live in UK.

Hi and welcome,
Formatting a card enables the card to be 'understood' by the digital appliance.
As it is, the card is formatted for Fuji cameras and you can reformat it for Olympus, either using a card reader or your camera (if you have that function). If you forget, the card simply won't work.
PS I'm sorry but I can't help on the card reader question.Kind Regards.

Thanks. What made me ask was that someone told me he that his friend had managed to use a fuji card but then had intractible problems xfring pics from camera to comptr. So I'll make sure to take care in future.
As to xd card readers once again thanks but I wonder if there iare any folk out there with experiences and recommendations

The card must be Olympus to use the Panorama Mode in the Olympus camera.
