Fireworks video with my D300s
Took this on Friday night of the New Hope, PA - Lambertville, NJ fireworks finale along the Delaware River

This is one of my first tries at editing a video. I uploaded it to Youtube under my reflectionsbyruth account
Anyone else have a DSLR with video?

This is really cool Ruth. Much better than I had thought. Do you use the video much?

hi Gary, actually this is the lower quality version. I recorded it as HD and the file was too huge to upload ot FB or Youtube.
File Size: 36.8 MB Image Size: 1280 x 720
I've only had the D300s for about 2 weeks. My D300 that I have owned since Nov 2007 along with my Nikor 18-200VR lens took a swim in the Delaware River 3 weeks ago
I was really bummed. Good thing for credit cards, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to afford to purchase a new camera and the Tamron 18-270VC.
I like it a lot and plan to use it with some other scenes where I see some interactions.
What I like about it, is the D300s has 2 cards,
the CF card that I use for photos, and the SD card that slides in next to the CF card that I direct all my videos'
You can choose which card accepts which files.
Or you can have both cards and set it that when the first card fills up, have the overflow go to your second card.
Or... every time you take a picture, you can have it set that it places one file on the CF card, and an immediate backup goes onto the SD card.
So far I just keep one for photos and one for videos.
I would have loved to have it in the middle of a couple of the snowstorms this past year, might have been pretty to watch later in the heat of the Summer lolLast edited by RTaylor; Jan 17th, 2011 at 07:06 PM.

I'm jealous! That produced a very sharp video. My Canon is the Rebel XSi, not the later model with the HD video. My wife's iPhone 4 takes pretty good HD video but I still have to lug around my old Sony camcorder. I do put together videos on occasion (here's one I just created for my ski club) and it would be nice to have a DSLR that could shoot top quality video.
If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much room.
