Newbie in need of help ...

Hello Im new here and Im loving it,, ya'll have some great photos and info.

I am needing some help with my Coolpix 5700.

I have had it for about a year, bought it used, I have read thru the manual and looked online endlessly for help with my night settings, I can set it for great daytime photos but for some reason I just can't seem to get it right for darkness.
I can't seem to get it to have the flash pop up unless its set on the timer setting.I went into the menu for the flash but it wont let me change it there either.

So is there anyone that can help me .. PLEASE..

We are going to the Bud Shootout next week and I really need to figure this out.

I don't know that specific model. I hope you get some help at this site; however, another forum you should look into that focuses heavily on Nikon products is nikongear.com.
